Penkford is moving into a new era. Our successful OFSTED in June 08 will form the basis of our drive to become an outstanding provision, not only locally but regionally, nationally and who knows, internationally! Our ethos statement has always been 'success every day'. As a school for students who experience Social, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties this is our 'core' business and one we take very seriously.
You will find as you explore our web site the many ways in which we engage our young people in purposeful activity, where they are encouraged to become independent learners with a huge menu of educational and vocational opportunity.
Becoming a Specialist School for Literacy, Numeracy, Pshee, Behaviour and Vocational activity has been a driver for development over the last few years. We have now successfully launched a new off-site vocational skills centre, 'Building Futures'.
Perhaps our biggest challenge for the next few years will be our transformation in the design and building of our new School For The Future. Our £4.9 million allocation of funding will see a complete rebuild on this site in 2013.
These are exciting times for Penkford and I know that staff, students and all of our community members will take on the challenges as they arise, making this school a centre of known expertise in this field.
